Junos is the cornerstone of Juniper’s success. The operating system was built twenty years ago with the aim to provide a robust, scalable, mission-critical platform for configuring core service provider-based routers. Today, Junos has become the benchmark operating system where some key features and display configurations have been copied by other vendors. Juniper still holds the key to many industry firsts in both hardware ASIC innovation, software solutions and the Junos Operating System.
